This version of grey/black is less stark than the first version of orange/black, but geez one sure has to have the screen adjusted just right in order to see the embedded commands.

What do you mean by embedded commands?

Perhaps your monitor is darker than mine...I don't know if you're using a laptop, do you mean adjusting the angle of the screen? Because you can adjust the brightness too...

I do have a laptop, and it is better if I adjust the angle of the screen properly. My brightness is set high. Can you sort out the info in this article: http://www.internettg.org/newsletter/mar99/accessibility_color_challenged.html? There's too much detail in the middle but toward the end it looks like it sets out some specs for determining color matches... but they don't seem to SAY which one is best, because it depends upon the perceptual apparatus of the composite audience. Which - duh! - we'll probably never know. (Unless folks out themselves at some point and specify the combos/preferences they've discovered work best for them.)

I keep thinking, though, that there has been research indicating the most common combination that accommodates the widest range of folk...

I mean, for example, above the "Post Reply" box in the darker grey background where (in fine black tiny text) are the links to "UMass Writing Forum :: General :: Forum Discussion :: etc"

Dang hard to see unless angle precise. I hate the ads too, but not sure I wanna pay to get rid of them. THAT's a crock, ain't it? Donnelly would have something to say about that. Bet.

Now, how come my URL tag didn't highlight the URL I posted? Am I stupid or what? (Careful how you answer...) ;-)

- Your link didn't work because of the question mark at the end.

- Next to the login button there's a profile button. On your profile page there's a link to modify your profile, which has a bunch of menu options. One of them lets you choose a skin. That means I can add skins anytime somebody suggests something new, and users can pick which ones they want. Hopefully I can rename the three I made because they are called Stuff, Black, and BubbaWubba.
